NEW Nikon Df - Full Frame Retro DSLR

For many years of asking Nikon to produce a digital version of the classic FM/FE series of film cameras from the 1980's, so is this it? Well, not quite. It's somewhat larger and has more buttons and features than the purists would have liked.
That said, this is a beautiful camera and a joy to handle and use. A true 'retro' camera takes the best of what's new and blends that with the classic styling of the past, and the Nikon Df is certainly that.
I've had a chance to have a good play with the Df and loved it. Nikon were right to give their retro camera a full frame sensor and an optical DSLR viewfinder, and this is the smallest yet. By giving the Df the D4 sensor you can be assured of getting the best possible quality.
One thing Nikon have taken off is the HD Movie mode, again absolutely right as this camera is aimed at the still photographer. The unique mechanical operating system (the dials on top) will bring back the feel of cameras past and are just better than push buttons and menus.
In my opinion DSLR designs have been a bit boring for a while now and the Nikon Df is the most exciting new camera by far. Once you have a chance to get your hands on one you'll be inspired to have a new relationship with your camera—one you may have known and lost over the years—and reawaken your joy for taking photos.
