.Nikon have launched a trio of new products at the CES Show in sunny Las Vegas.
The top of the list is the upgrade from the D5300 - the new and improved D5500. Yes, you could argue that someone at Nikon is not aware of the natural number sequence - could this mean it's double the upgrade? Well read on. We'll think you'll be impressed.
Whether upgrading from an older model, or starting at the very beginning, this is the camera that will out perform anything and everything you've had before. Incredibly sharp images in all lighting situations; touchscreen control including focusing on wherever you press, and easy connectivity with Wi-Fi to your phone or tablet proves that the Nikon D5500 is the ideal choice for you.
The Nikon D5500 boasts an incredible 24.2 Million Pixel sensor without an optical low-pass filter. In English, that means that there is nothing to stop the camera using the full power of the sensor to produce amazing images.
Despite it’s new streamlined design, it offers an incredibly robust monocoque structure – perfect for shooting anywhere and any time. This made even more handy with the use of the 3.2” variable angle LCD screen which also has touch focus control – just tap on the screen where you want it to focus, and POW – its done.
This camera follows the theme of its previous model with the already established standard lens, the 18-55mm VR II, that allows fast autofocus in live view/movie mode. This comes in very handy with the Full HD Movie captured at the pro level.
To top it all off, the camera has built in WiFi, making it easier for you to share your photos with anyone and everyone.

The first is the 55-200mm f4-5.6G ED VR II.
The third generation 55-200mm NIKKOR Lens takes your photography experience to the next level. If you purchased your Nikon DSLR with an 18-55mm VR lens kit, then this is the very next lens for you
DX-format telephoto lens that boasts a serious size advantage. With a versatile 55–200mm focal range and an ultra-compact design, this telephoto is the perfect partner for smaller DX-format D-SLR cameras.
Compact, light, and easy-to-handle, this lens is great for close-ups of distant subjects, travel shots, sporting adventures, and amateur wildlife photography. The compact design ensures comfortable handheld shooting, and the retractable lens mechanism enables superior portability. Autofocus is fast, precise, and super-quiet, and Nikon’s Vibration Reduction system enables blur-free images.

Big and powerful, but not so big that it will give you a hernia. In fact, far from it. This relatively compact prime telephoto lens will bring all you survey closer to you. Ideal for events where discretion is key, and high-speed is required. A must for events including sports.
Close the distance with this FX-format 300 mm lens. As the first F-mount NIKKOR to be equipped with a phase Fresnel element, it offers the ultimate balance of compact build, telephoto reach, and high image quality.
Ideal for sports and wildlife photography as well as travel shots and tight, detail-oriented portraiture, this lens is the smart choice when you want to fill the frame but not your bag.
