Update Fujifilm Lens RoadMap

Fujifilm updates its development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the “X series” of digital cameras.
Three new interchangeable prime lenses form a 25-lens line up that supports a wide range of shooting subjects
FUJIFILM Corporation has released an updated roadmap for developing interchangeable lenses for the X series of mirrorless digital cameras.

The latest roadmap adds three new lenses:

23mm F2 R WR - a semi-wide angle lens that gives the field of view equivalent to 35mm (in the 35mm film format). The compact, lightweight and stylish lens features a high-speed autofocus capability, making it perfect for casual snapshots.

50mm F2 R WR - a compact mid-telephoto lens has a field of view equivalent to 76mm (in the 35mm film format). Its beautiful bokeh and high-speed autofocus are ideally suited for portrait photography.

80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR Macro - This mid-telephoto macro lens with the field of view equivalent to 122mm (in the 35mm film format) is the X series’ first 1:1 macro interchangeable lens. It can be mounted with a teleconverter to be used as a telephoto macro lens equivalent to 171mm (in the 35mm film format) with the 1.4x teleconverter and equivalent to 244mm (in the 35mm film format) with the 2x teleconverter. The lens, covering macro photography from mid-telephoto to telephoto range, also features a high-performance image stabilization.

The expanded 25-lens line up covers extensive angles of view from ultra wide angle to ultra telephoto, and will now also cover the macro category to further enhance photographic versatility.

Similarly to the new 23mm F2 R WR and existing 35mm F2R WR lenses, the 50mm f2 R WR lens features a compact, lightweight and stylish appearance and creates a new “compact prime trio” range within the complete lineup of interchangeable lenses for “X Series” digital cameras.

The 120mm F2.8 R Macro lens, listed in the previous roadmap, has been replaced with the 80mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR to meet the market demand for compact and lightweight lenses. To cater to our customers who were expecting a telephoto macro lens, this new lens is compatible with the existing teleconverters to extend its reach into the telephoto range.
