The first famous person Andy Gotts photographed was Stephen Fry who spared the then student 90 seconds to take his portrait.

Despite photographing a huge range of famous faces since then Gotts has always insisted on one thing: that his portraits remain untouched.

Gotts' unique photography style can be seen across this series of contact sheets, from George Clooney in a pirate hat to Matt Damon emerging from a plant pot.

Andy Gotts MBE MA is a photographer based in London, England, and New York, USA. He is most noted for his black and white portraits of Hollywood actors and singers.

Since 1990 Gotts' work has been published internationally and has appeared in many magazines as well as weekend newspaper supplements and advertising campaigns. The National Portrait Gallery holds a selection of his photographs in their permanent collection and in 2009 Gotts was honoured with the presentation of the Fox Talbot Award.

In 2011 Gotts was conferred the degree Doctor of Arts by De Montfort University and he is a former President of the British Institute of Professional Photographers.

2012 saw Gotts appointed MBE in the Queen's New Years Honours List.

Gotts is noted for his magnum opus 'Degrees' which was inspired by the game, the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon ; BAFTA – 'Behind The Mask' and the Monty Python reunion.

Current projects for 2017 includes 'iCons' for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. as well as a personal project 'UNSEEN' which features 100 photographic contact-sheets.
