The Photographer Behind the Counter with... another Graham!

My first camera that I can remember was the Olympus XA. My dad was a big Olympus fan and I remember him giving it to me. I recall that towards the end of it's life the shutter button got sand or grit under it and made it unreliable (sand is a definite no no)!!!
My next camera was an Olympus OM 30 or maybe even a OM 40 film camera. I used to like focusing using the split screen and always loved the sound as you pressed the shutter. Obviously it had good quality pictures too!
I've currently got a Nikon D7000 with a range of lenses although I think I would now like a Sony RX 100 MK 7 and a Fujifilm GFX! One for convenience and one for special occasions or events. My favourite lens for the Nikon is the 50mm 1.8 although I've just realised its not in my bag!
My favourite camera to demonstrate is the Panasonic FZ 330, It's an affordable bridge camera and it does exactly what it says on the tin! Or put another way... it's a great camera and every home should have one.
The biggest industry game changer, in my opinion, has got to be the change from film to digital. Photography is far more accessible than it used to be and anyone can take great photos - even if it takes a few attempts.
I mainly take pictures of the family and places we go - for me this is what is really important and I have a thousands little reminders of so many happy memories.
I would definitely advise people to enjoy their photography and not be too critical of themselves. I see many people who have anxiety and are too hard on themselves regarding their photography. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you like the photograph you have taken then that is what is important... Unless of course you are entering competitions or doing photography as a profession.
